Since 1989 the international Slow Food movement has been celebrating good, clean and fair food by supporting local communities worldwide. As the antithesis to fast food and the fast life participating in Slow Food gives us all a chance to rediscover the pleasure of local produce and traditions.
Devon is blessed by a fertile mosaic of high purple moorland, lush green pastures, deep red soil and bright blue coasts that furnishes one of the best larders in Europe. Slow Food Devon is committed to sharing, enjoying, tasting and preserving the best of that Devon produce.
Eat it or lose it
We are each responsible for the effect of the choices we make about the food we buy and consume. So whether you are a producer, cook or consumer join the members of Slow Food Devon to celebrate, taste and learn about the delights of traditional clotted cream, Exe oysters, Dartmoor lamb, Ruby Red beef, the Dittisham plum, real ales, farmhouse ciders and any one of the delicious artisan cheeses now being made locally – amongst so much else!
